Staunton v. State. MN criminal law
The Minnesota Supreme Court affirmed the St. Louis County conviction of Michael Jon Staunton for the 1999 first-degree murder of Darryl Kokochak.
In affirming, the Supreme Court, in an opinion authored by Justice G.B. Anderson, held that the evidence was sufficient to convict. It also held that Staunton had failed to establish any prejudice from his claim of ineffective assistance of counsel.
