Session 3

We will finish the merit badge at our session on Tuesday, May 12, 2020, at 6:00 PM Central Time. Your "homework" before our session will take about an hour. There are three requirements that you will e-mail to me before the session. You can send one e-mail, or three separate e-mails, whichever is easier for you. Remember, when e-mailing me, be sure to copy your parent and/or unit leader. If you have the merit badge book, that's the easiest way to prepare some of the requirements. But if you don't, I have links to other sites. All information is available online. (Yes, get your parent's permission before visiting any online sources!)

Session 3 Preparation "Homework"

At session 3, we will do requirements 5, 6, and 8. You will need to e-mail me three of the requirements before the session. To get ready for session 3, complete the following:

Session 3 Call-In Instructions

Session 2 will take place at 6:00 PM Central Time on Tuesday, May 12, 2020. Plan on the session lasting about 45 minutes. Here are the call-in instructions: Dial 1-712-775-8972. When prompted, enter the conference code 127735. Normal long-distance charges (to Iowa) apply for this call.

We will complete requirements 5, 6, and 8. Be prepared to do the following:

  • We'll have a discussion about the six functions of government. This will be a group discussion, but everyone needs to talk.

  • We will take turns telling what speech you picked. You should be prepared to tell what speech you picked, why it was important when it was given, and why you think it applies to Americans today.

  • We'll talk about the letters you sent.

  • I will sign your blue card and send it back to you!
