Richard Clem Continuing Legal Education
High quality, reasonably priced CLE opportunities
This 12-credit program is a summary of everything you learned in law school! Most attorneys practice in one area. If you practice in the area of criminal law, then it's probably been quite a while since you thought about interests in real property. If you practice in the area of real estate, then it's probably been a while since you considered the right to a speedy trial. During this program, we'll give you a refresher of all of the major subject areas you covered in law school. You can take this course by itself for only $39.
To receive CLE credit, please follow these steps:
If paying online, click the "Pay Now" link below. You will be able to enter the code numbers during the payment process. If you prefer, you can leave this field blank and send the code numbers to me separately.
Upon receipt of your payment and code numbers, I will send you via e-mail a certificate of attendance. If you don't have an e-mail address, I can send this by U.S. Mail. I process these courses manually, so please allow time for me to respond. I will normally provide your certificate of attendance within 24 hours.
This program runs slightly over twelve hours.
Introduction to American Law. Live lecture by Richard Clem. This course is a summary and refresher of all of the major courses you took in law school: Constitutional law, constitutional rights, civil procedure, torts, contracts, property, criminal law, and criminal procedure. If you practice in a single area, you're an expert in that area. But it's a good idea to have a refresher of everything else you learned in law school, as well as learn of more recent developments in those areas of law. The text for this course is Law 101 by Jay Feinman, 5th Edition.
If you want to listen to all or part of the course before deciding whether you want to pay for it, you are welcome to do so. You may listen at the following links:
While not absolutely necessary, the text for this course is the book
Law 101 by Jay Feinman, 5th Edition. The book, especially in conjunction with my lectures, is an excellent
review of the material you studied in law school. If you have friends or family members who are considering becoming
attorneys, you might want to pass the book along to them when you're finished with it. The book is available on Amazon as a hardcover,
paperback, Kindle, or audio book. You
can order from the link below. It is also available at many public libraries and college libraries. You can find a copy at your local library by using
this link.
This course has an interactive component in that the course presenter is available by telephone or e-mail for any questions or comments regarding the substantive content of the course. The course presenter may be contacted by telephone at 612-378-7751 or e-mail at clem.law@usa.net. Questions are usually answered within 24 hours. During the course, all attendees must make a note of the code numbers given during the program and submit them by e-mail to the course sponsor. The sponsor provides a certificate of attendance only upon recipt of the code numbers.
