I'm offering the following conference call CLE programs in December 2014. This is a convenient way to satisfy your CLE requirements, for only $69 for 3 credits. This year, my year-end programs are geared mostly toward Wisconsin attorneys, since Wisconsin attorneys are required to earn their ethics credits with "live" programs such as the ones on this page. I have even lower cost alternatives available.

• If you are a Wisconsin or New York attorney and have already completed your 3-credit ethics requirement, and you simply need more credits before the end of the year, you can earn up to 8 approved credits for only $25. Wisconsin attorneys click here for details.
• If you need Iowa credit, you can earn up to 6 credits, including ethics, for only $55 with the following two courses:
  • Ethics. 3.5 Ethics Credits only $30.
  • Recent Appellate Decisions. 3.0 Standard Credits only $25.
• If you need Minnesota credit, you can earn up to 9.5 credits, including ethics and elimination of bias for only $75 with the following programs:
  • Two credits, elimination of bias . $20
  • 3.5 credits, ethics. $30
  • 4.0 general credits. $25

Wisconsin Ethics 2014. Live program presented by Richard Clem. This program is a comprehensive review of the Rules of Professional Conduct for attorneys in Minnesota and Wisconsin. Most states have adopted substantially similar rules governing lawyers, and this course will review the rules as adopted in these and other states. Where the rules differ, we will go over the differences as adopted in other states. Seeing these differences gives insight into the meaning of the rule in all states. Many lawyers review the Rules in their entirety only once, and that is before they take the Multistate Professional Responsibility Exam in law school. But the rules change over the years and decades, and some of the finer points might be forgotten. We'll cover many of the rules, and the written materials will cover the rules in their entirety. All programs will be presented live by Richard P. Clem, who has a B.A. in history from the University of Minnesota, and a J.D., cum laude, from Hamline University School of Law. He has been in private practice in the Twin Cities for 25 years. His reported cases include: Asociacion Nacional de Pescadores a Pequena Escala o Artesanales de Colombia v. Dow Quimica de Colombia, 988 F.2d 559, rehearing denied, 5 F.3d 530 (5th Cir. 1993), cert. denied, 510 U.S. 1041 (1994); LaMott v. Apple Valley Health Care Center, 465 N.W.2d 585 (Minn. Ct. App. 1991); Abo el Ela v. State, 468 N.W.2d 580 (Minn. Ct. App. 1991).
