April 2018 Conference Call CLE

I'm offering the following conference call CLE programs in April 2018. This is a convenient way to satisfy your CLE requirements, for $25 per credit. Programs on this page are offered for Iowa, Wisconsin, and Minnesota credit, but credit in other states is also available. Upon registration, you will be given a telephone number and access code. At the time of the program, you simply call in, enter the access code, and listen to the program. You can submit live questions during the program.

All programs are offered for Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin ethics credit. I try to process registrations as quickly as possible. Please check your e-mail shortly before the program begins for call-in instructions. If you have technical difficulties during the program, please call my cell phone, 651-285-5474.

Course Schedule

All programs begin promptly at 3:00 PM. The phone line will be open approximately five minutes prior to the times shown. Course Description

Ethics Refresher 2018 Live lecture presented by Richard Clem. This will be a comprehensive review of the Rules of Professional Conduct for attorneys in Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and other states. Many lawyers review the Rules in their entirety only once, and that is before they take the Multistate Professional Responsibility Exam in law school. But the rules change over the years and decades, and some of the finer points might be forgotten. Therefore, this course will serve as a useful refresher for the practitioner to avoid ethical pitfalls.

One hour of the ethics program is presented each day. You can take the three parts in any order.

About the Speaker

All programs will be presented live by Richard P. Clem, who has a B.A. in history from the University of Minnesota, and a J.D., cum laude, from Hamline University School of Law. He has been in private practice in the Twin Cities for 25 years. His reported cases include: Asociacion Nacional de Pescadores a Pequena Escala o Artesanales de Colombia v. Dow Quimica de Colombia, 988 F.2d 559, rehearing denied, 5 F.3d 530 (5th Cir. 1993), cert. denied, 510 U.S. 1041 (1994); LaMott v. Apple Valley Health Care Center, 465 N.W.2d 585 (Minn. Ct. App. 1991); Abo el Ela v. State, 468 N.W.2d 580 (Minn. Ct. App. 1991).

Registration

The easiest way to register is to use the "Buy Now" button below. Enter the date of the program (and start time, if you plan to call in after 12:00) and click the "Buy Now" button to make your payment online. If you have a PayPal account, you will be given an opportunity to pay with that account. If you do not have a PayPal account, or don't want to use it, you may pay by credit card. I process registrations manually. After you register, you will receive an automated e-mail confirming your payment. I will follow up, usually within a few hours, with instructions for calling in.
