Richard Clem Continuing Legal Education
High quality, reasonably priced CLE opportunities
June 30 Update: If you need either ethics or bias credit today, the best option is my on-demand ethics/bias program, which is approved for Minnesota credit. If you complete the program before midnight, your certificate of attendance will be dated June 30. I will be checking my e-mail until late tonight. If you need live CLE credit, I could still arrange to do a conference call program late today if necessary. Please call me at 612-378-7751 to arrange a time.
I'm offering the following conference call CLE programs in May and June 2018. This is a convenient way to satisfy your CLE requirements, for $25 per credit. Programs on this page are offered for Minnesota credit, but credit in other states is also available. Upon registration, you will be given a telephone number and access code. At the time of the program, you simply call in, enter the access code, and listen to the program. You can submit live questions during the program.
Note: Elimination of Bias programs can be found at this link. Minnesota attorneys may also earn their ethics and bias credits with "on-demand" programs. My five-credit ethics-bias program is approved for Minnesota credit, and costs only $69. For details, please visit this link.
All programs are offered for Minnesota credit. I try to process registrations as quickly as possible. Please check your e-mail shortly before the program begins for call-in instructions. If you have technical difficulties during the program, please call my cell phone, 651-285-5474.
The programs follow these schedules. All times are Central Standard Time:

Ethics Refresher 2018 Live lecture presented by Richard Clem. This will be a comprehensive review of the Rules of Professional Conduct for attorneys in Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and other states. Many lawyers review the Rules in their entirety only once, and that is before they take the Multistate Professional Responsibility Exam in law school. But the rules change over the years and decades, and some of the finer points might be forgotten. Therefore, this course will serve as a useful refresher for the practitioner to avoid ethical pitfalls.
One hour of the ethics program is presented each day. You can take the three parts in any order.
The course materials are available at the following link:
All programs will be presented live by Richard P. Clem, who has a B.A. in history from the University of Minnesota, and a J.D., cum laude, from Hamline University School of Law. He has been in private practice in the Twin Cities for 25 years. His reported cases include: Asociacion Nacional de Pescadores a Pequena Escala o Artesanales de Colombia v. Dow Quimica de Colombia, 988 F.2d 559, rehearing denied, 5 F.3d 530 (5th Cir. 1993), cert. denied, 510 U.S. 1041 (1994); LaMott v. Apple Valley Health Care Center, 465 N.W.2d 585 (Minn. Ct. App. 1991); Abo el Ela v. State, 468 N.W.2d 580 (Minn. Ct. App. 1991).
