Dear Rep. Hausman and Mr. Heyer:

We are planning to have an Ice Cream Social at our home before the election. We will be inviting friends and neighbors, and we want to make this an opportunity for them to meet the Legislative candidates. Therefore, we plan to invite both of you, and we hope you are both able to attend. To make sure that is possible, we want to make sure that none of our possible dates pose any scheduling conflicts.

The possible dates are the following afternoons: Saturday, September 20; Sunday, September 21; Saturday, September 27; Saturday, October 18. The time any of these days will be 2:00 – 4:00 PM.

If you know that you are not available any of these dates, please let us know by September 12. For your convenience, I am enclosing a postcard on which you can indicate the dates on which you are unavailable.

In the interest of full disclosure, we are supporting Mr. Heyer in this election. However, we want to give both of you this opportunity to meet constituents, and this will be an entirely non-partisan event. You are both welcome to bring a lawn sign to display during the event and/or to distribute literature. We will remove any of our own political signs during the event. We hope both of you will be able to attend.

Sincerely yours,

Richard and Yippy Clem

Dear Rep. Hausman and Mr. Heyer:

Jon Heyer indicated that he had a conflict on October 18. Therefore, we have scheduled the ice cream social for Saturday, September 20, at 2:00 – 4:00. As I mentioned in my last letter, we would be happy to allow you to display a sign during the event, and we will also make a table available for any literature you would like to distribute.

You can bring your sign and literature the day of the event. If you prefer, you can drop them off earlier. (We will not display the signs until we have received both.)

If you have any questions, please let us know. We look forward to seeing both of you next Saturday.

Sincerely yours,

Richard and Yippy Clem
