Complete Your Wisconsin Ethics Credits for only $69

2022 Telephone Conference Call CLE

The programs on this page allow you to complete your Wisconsin ethics credits by telephone for only $69.

Space is still available for the June 30 program, and you can register below. Click here for July-August programs.

Because of COVID-19, the Wisconsin Supreme Court relaxed the CLE rules for attorneys in the 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 CLE cycles. It is possible that there will be a similar order for 2022, but even under the COVID rules, Wisconsin attorneys were required to take their three credits of Ethics and Professional Responsibility with live programs. The programs on this page qualify as "live" programs, and therefore satisfy your Wisconsin ethics requirement. If you are taking this program for Wisconsin credit, please register on this page. If you need to take the the program for Minnesota credit, please go to the Minnesota page to register. (If you need credit in more than one state, you can register on this page, and send a note that you also need credit in another state.)

This three hour conference call will take care of your ethics requirement, and will give you either 3 or 3.5 credits toward your 30 credit requirement.

*-CLE credit has been applied for as follows for each program:

Wisconsin: 3.5 ethics and professional responsibility credits approved.
New York: Automatic reciprocity with Wisconsin.
Minnesota: If registering for Minnesota credit, register using this link.
Other States: Eligible for CLE credit in most states. Please contact me regarding credit in other states.

Program Description

Ethics Refresher 2022. Live lecture presented by Richard Clem. This will be a comprehensive review of the Rules of Professional Conduct for attorneys in Wisconsin and other states. Many lawyers review the Rules in their entirety only once, and that is before they take the Multistate Professional Responsibility Exam in law school. But the rules change over the years and decades, and some of the finer points might be forgotten. Therefore, this course will serve as a useful refresher for the practitioner to avoid ethical pitfalls. Live lecture, 180 minutes.*

* - Note: The program is scheduled to run 180 minutes, for the benefit of attorneys who are admitted in Wisconsin and another state, such as Minnesota, which requires 180 minutes of ethics. However, Wisconsin attorneys require only 150 minutes of ethics. Therefore, if only Wisconsin attorneys are taking the course, with everyone's approval, we will conclude after 2-1/2 hours, and Wisconsin attorneys will receive 3.0 credits. If attorneys from other states are taking the program, or if the Wisconsin attorneys desire to do so, we will continue a full three hours, and Wisconsin attorneys will earn 3.5 credits.
